I recently dropped an old client of mine because of their fee structure. I was actually working with them for 4 years at a 20% fee - no, this is not a full fee, but they fed me so much work and allowed access to the hiring managers that I was comfortable with this. They recently were acquired by a large global, publicly traded firm who had, and issued, a company wide mandate stating that all external recruiter fees would be dropped to 15%. Are you for real? 15%? I said thanks, but no thanks and hit the road. The crazy thing is, that there are recruiters out there that would eat that 15% up. That is nuts.
If you want to get a recruiting firms attention, pay them a full fee, otherwise, no matter how great of a company you may be, there are plenty of other good firms out there that respect what we do and respect the effort that we put forth, as CONTINGENCY recruiters, and will compensate us accordingly.
Holla Back if you like
