Do you give credit for prior service on benefits to returning staff?

It depends on how long they were gone and why they left.

Yes, we have a "bridging policy". We reinstate benefits to all who return within 12 months. After 12 months, you are treated as a "new hire" with regards to benefits. Of course, there are a few oddities depending on benefit contracts, but in general, if you had been employed long enough to be eligible for all benies, and you return within 12 monts, you get everything back.
