Over the past few months we have been approached by some technology vendors touting their new technology as "the wave of the future."

The first one would allow for the jobs posted on our site to uploaded to a .mobi site that professionals looking for civil engineering jobs could view on their mobile phones.  Quite frankly, when someone is looking for a job they are not going to utilize their mobile phone when there are SO many better options.

The second technology would allow for candidates to develop a video resume.  We believe there are too many disadvantages to this, too many to get into right here anyway.  What are your thoughts?  Has your company experienced success with any of these technologies?

I am sure of 2 things:

A.  There is definitely a market for firms to post jobs that are visible and accessible via cell phones.  There are so many people these days who use their cell phone not only as their cell phone, but as their internet browser, as their Mp3 players, as their TV's, as their home phone, etc, so for those folks, the abilit to view jobs on their phone is ideal.

AND

B.  Civil Engineers are NOT a part of THAT market
