With the 100th Anniversary of the completion of the Panama Canal taking place later this summer, Norwich University has put together this infographic celebrating these engineering achievements of the past.

I´d have the Space Shuttle and International Space Station on my List
I don’t agree with this list. I believe more in the “5 People You Meet in Heaven” approach.
I think the combined ‘little’ things we have done for large numbers of people are more important than the ‘BIG IMPRESSIVE’ accomplishments.
I would vote for the safe water treatment plants around the world.
The road networks, the rail networks and all the other accomplishments that the world uses daily and is so reliable the average user just takes for granted that it will ALWAYS WORK.
The normal citizen doesn’t think of the miracle of just turning on the tap and the confidence that it will work and the water will be safe. Don’t let us forget it either.

Thanks for sharing Ann…you make a very good point!!!
No Three Gorges Dam? Hmmm… Perhaps give it to Hoover for being 70 years ahead but still. The Three Gorges Dam is insane in its scale.
This is a great list!

There are many great bridges that have been engineered over the years. My company have completed many bridge construction projects over the years including this one: http://www.roadform.ie/project-completed-bridge-replacement-project-feakle-co-clare/
The infographic is impressive by the way
